Change is Simple

4th graders participated in the change is simple enrichment program today.  They talked about how much energy different appliances use and what kinds of energy there is.  They did different kinds of "yoga" poses to learn about different kinds of energy. They plugged appliances into a meter and turned them on to see how many watts of electricity something used.  They found out that a hair dryer used the most electricity, and that charging your ipad used the least amount of electricity. The children also had a chance to use their energy to try and light an 11 watt light bulb and a 60 watt light bulb to see how much energy they need to exert to light each.  The children were very excited to learn about energy and how they can help conserve it.
