The 5'th grade went on a field trip to MIT Wednesday & Thursday this week. They learned about gears, pulleys, drivers & followers. They used a bicycle model to see how different sized gears worked together, then they built their own car models with electric motors to see how pulleys worked. One class even made it to to the challenge portion of the trip, they had use what they had learned to build a car that took 30 seconds to drive 1 meter! Everyone had a great time and learned a lot! Thank you to the GEF for sponsoring this trip!
